National Savings Bank provides banking products and financial services in Sri Lanka. It offers deposit products, including ordinary savings, post office savings, and pension savings accounts; term deposits, such as fixed deposits, national savings certificates, deposit savings schemes, and gift tokens; accounts for minors, teenagers, ladies, and senior citizens; foreign currency accounts; and housing loans, loan against deposits, and pawning services, as well as personal loans, such as individual/group personal loans and auto loans. The company also provides corporate finance, including direct lending to financial institutions, loan syndication, and project lending; non resident foreign currency/resident foreign currency accounts, special foreign investment deposit accounts, and TIERA-D accounts to invest in treasury bills and bonds; debit and credit cards; and safety locker, utility bill payment, Internet banking, SMS and phone banking, and over the counter fund transfer services. In addition, it offers travelers cheques and foreign currency notes; foreign inward remittances and Web-based remittances; treasury bills and treasury bonds; and standing orders and mail transfer orders; gratuity payment schemes; and guarantees. It operates a network of 219 branches, 1,185 school bank units, and 231 automated teller machines. The company was founded in 1832 and is based in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
