Jefferies Group LLC operates as an integrated securities and investment banking company in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. The companys Capital Markets segment is engaged in the research, sale, and trade of equity and equity-related products, including common stock, American depository receipts, global depository receipts, exchange-traded funds, exchange-traded equity options, convertible and other equity-linked products, and closed-end funds; provision of financing, securities lending, and other prime brokerage services; and provision of wealth management services to high net worth individuals, private equity and venture funds, and small institutions. It is also involved in the sale and trade of investment grade and high yield corporate bonds, U.S. and European government and agency securities, municipal bonds, mortgage and asset-backed securities, whole loans, leveraged loans, distressed securities, and emerging markets debt; and provision of coverage, execution, clearing, and market making services in futures, options, and derivatives on industrial metals. In addition, this segment offers investment banking services comprising private equity placements, initial public offerings, follow-on offerings, block trades, and equity-linked convertible securities; structures, underwrites, and distributes public and private debt, such as corporate debt, leveraged loans, mortgage, and other asset-backed securities, as well as liability management solutions; and provides mergers and acquisitions, recapitalization and restructuring, and other financial advisory services. Its Asset Management segment offers investment management services to private investment funds, separate accounts, and mutual funds. Jefferies Group LLC primarily serves institutional investors, corporations, and government entities. The company was founded in 1962 and is headquartered in New York, New York. Jefferies Group LLC operates as a subsidiary of Leucadia National Corporation.
